78' F350 Crew Cab Cummins build.

Well,

I've been threatening and flip/flopping on what I'm going to build for so long... it's time.

Here's what I'm thinking,
I'm sure by now everyone has seen/heard about the CC Cummins project dubbed "Super Dually" on Spikes Trucks. This aint that! It will be a CC shortbed but all ford frame and body.

The rear axle, I'm leaning toward a GM Corp 14 bolt daully.
The front, I'm still up-in-the-air on 2wd/4wd.
The bed, I'm going shorter than short, probably sectioning the front and rear of the bed, reminisant of the mega dually dodge.
The power, 91.5 IC 5spd.
The look, In the weeds/sky high. Help me decide!
The cost, Cheap!!!! Luckily I have most everything I need to go either way.

Now to try uploading some pic's.

FAILED!!!!! I'll try taking some smaller and see, any help??? I'm only good enough to at the pc to turn it on!

sounds like a good project!

easiest way to get pictures on here is to open up a photobucket account.... Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket

It keeps telling me "invalid file"

On edit: Nevermind. I was trying to upload onto the CP files page

It's rough but not in the best places.

The doors and panels are all as good/bad as this 1.

Not real rust under here, what is there wipes of and there's paint undernieth.
This is awsome, learn something new everyday! Thanks man.

Got some more.

Seats need new skins, I've got a tan after market split bench w/console I may use if I decide to repaint the inside.
No rust under the hood save for the bat tray.

Only bad rust is along the roof gutters, this will require some welding.
And I've already gotton a $0.50 return on my $300 investment. Now to find someone needing a smoking 400 and C6

Here's some old fashion cut and paste for ya. Picture dually fenders and good paint.

No... I didn't cut the drivers door in, that's realy how it sets. Kinda grainy but squint and think of a color, let me know if I'm on the right track.

Funny thing is, that's exactly how I plan to do the bed except with a 110 mig.

NICE! Good to see a build thread starting. GREAT score for $300!!!!

Now as for the "sky high or in the weeds" - my vote is for about "stock" ride height for a 4wd = about 4" higher than a 2wd.

I am NOT a fan of lowered trucks - especially these trucks. Look NASTY to me.

I'm also not a huge fan of dually's, but they do serve a purpose for some.

If you are looking for dually fenders I know of a truck that a guy just took some off of. Maybe you could grab um for cheap...

PM me if you want the link to the thread with pics of that truck.

Thanks,

I feel the same, I just thought I'd toss it out there. It'll probably be a short bed crew 2wd just because that will get it on the road sooner. I'm planning to sell my PSD after the new year so I need this to be up and running. The fenders will most likely be the 1's off my 91 Dodge dually If no one buys the truck whole. They cut into the bed instead of butting up so all I have to do is trace cut and flange, + w/the short bed I think it will look cleaner.

Again thanks especialy to those that have dared to do things like this paving the way for the rest of us!

Haven't done much last couple days, it rained about 3" here and my yard is soup. I'm hauling off the Chevy dually I'm getting the axle and Hydro boost from tomorrow and am still not sure if I want/need another dually. Hope to show some progress then.
