I loved hearing that thing run for the first time, let me tell you. I called Dynamic to check on my transmission, and they said it was built, and the billet converter is ready, the only thing that's holding it up is the special order late 1980s 6.9L diesel-C6 trans 3100 rpm governor. They had to order the damn thing from a Ford dealer in Texas, it was the only place they could find that had one. It should be ready by early next week, for me to drive out and pick up. I'll be pacing back and forth, waiting. haha
I still need to have a radiator made up for it, too. That should be ready by next week also. I'm hoping to get a radiator that uses the stock '78 tanks with the '91 dodge inlet and outlet placement, and a core that's 3" longer than stock, to make up for the body lift. The side brackets will need to be lengthened by 3" also, of course.

That is awesome.

I think I found my plans for tonight. It involves a fuel can, two hose and a battery, I need some motivation to work on my conversion.

I messed with the power steering high pressure line today. What a PITA. Ford decided to make the upper part of the Bronco hose 3/8", and the lower part that goes into the steering box 5/16". I'm not sure of the purpose of the dual sizes, but it sucks. I'd love it if NAPA could just make up a hose with the Cummins on one end and the Ford on the other, but they said they can't get the ends. Hmmm.

I cut my lines about a foot from the ends, took it to napa and had them put a hydrulic hose male fitting on one end and a female on the other, works great.

Any decent industrial hose shop or heavy truck parts house will be able to make a power steering hose for you. Or better yet, get the fittings and make the hose yourself. That way you can clock it just right if you need to. I used aeroquip hose with JIC fittings and adapters. On the steering box I used a dedicated inverted flare hose end. It was pretty pricey. If I had to do it over I would use an adapter there as well.

I found the hose from my demo car works (chevy pump to ford box). I guess if you go to autozone and tell them you have a 75 LTD with a windsor in it, it is supposed to be the correct hose? If you are interest I could double check the info. But I would just go to a shop and have it made up.

I had my old high school shop teacher make mine in his garage because napa said they couldn't do it.

Sounds like Napa just sucks when it comes to hydraulic lines, I will be checking around. Thanks for the info, I appreciate it.

p.s. What size is the fitting that goes into the pressure side of the '91 Cummins power steering pump?

OMG you are going to destroy that clutch pack (trak-loc) in the 9" the first time you mash it. I have been through half a dozen of those with my 351M in my 78. It blows the side of the carrier out on the back side of the ring gear so the ring and pinion dont line up anymore. Can eat up an entire rearend in seconds. I would look into a Detroit locker or something that can handle more torque. VERY NICE JOB BY THE WAY!!!!!!!!! Looks like a beast!

All 4 of the side mirror anchors were seized to the screws, and were a bugger to get loose. I ended up installing new mirror anchors with a kit my buddy loaned me.

Anchor installation gun at work.

Aftermarket 1973 Ford truck mirror from Broncograveyard, with a slight convex surface, so there's virtually no blind spots. I like these smaller mirrors much better than the stock '78 Bronco pieces.

For the pwr steering hose, find someone with a hydraulic flaring tool. i have on and i just cut one end off the hose put the right fitting on,and the flaring tool has the die to make the special flare that holds the o ring. hope that made sense

Edit: The Cummins end is some weird metric thing, I'm just using a steel compression fitting to splice the 3/8" tubing end from the Cummins into the stock Bronco steering hose..
