Mark is doing a 67-72 body style which is rare, but not near as rare as this thing.

My 74 (73-79 body style) is even less rare - haha
lol, stop quoting ford.com and get to work on your truck....

When I re-read my post about marks truck it made it sound like the year, I was actually more thinking about the color of the truck and the pic with the front off looks just like marks!

But both Mark and the original poster here are doing the poly - so I am interested to see how they hold up.

I personally used rubber, I had the same thought as you. Not to mention my truck rides terrible so I figured the rubber would give it a bit more flex persay.

Thanks for all the replys guys. The truck ridesx like a hay wagon so I don;t think I notice the motor vibration. I had the parts left over from another project. I will be boxing everything in, then making a crossmenber that goes under the engine between the motor mounts. I made some progress and will get some more pics up shortly.

This truck is a factory crew cab. No one knows how many were produced, but consensus is not very many. It does not have much for an interior right now. When I get the swap done and driving I am going to redo the inisde. I will post some pictures of the truck before I tore it apart.

FTE (ford truck enthusiasts) - not Ford.com - get it right

Plus I only talked briefly about the older, cooler trucks - I stopped before the boring, square ones like yours

I've heard as low as 50 were made, and that only 5 have survided. I've seen pics of 3 different trucks so I'd dare to bet there are more than 5 left, but not many. Any way you look at it that is still one rare, COOL truck you have. I'm waiting impatiently for the pics

Here are some pics of the truck. Most of these are from when I picked the truck up in Washington last year. I drove it up the Alcan last June. After driving 2000 miles getting 6-8 mpg I decided I needed to do something different. that's when I decided i wanted to go diesel power.

This is in the driveway of the previous owner.

These are from the road.

The interior is a little lacking. The roof matches the floor.

The mpg is one of the major reasons I am doing the swap as well. I think it is a common "problem"

And the interior is not lacking - it is near perfect! That is the beauty of these old trucks - SIMPLICITY! You seem to already have the 1 and only upgrade really needed - a new seat. The only thing it may be "lacking" is some line-X for the floors. All else is great.

Again - beautiful truck! It's in better condition than the FEW others I have seen

With the 460 and c6 that was in it the floor would get hot. I don't think I would have ever minded except after a few hours my feet would start to get hot.

I am going to redo the interior but I won't go to overboard. I plan on some insulation on the floor and headliner. The truck would never stay warm in the winter here (40 below) if there was no insulation on the roof. The seat is out of a 90 somthing, it's not bad but i would like captians chairs or a split bench.

The body is in good shape. There is some rust on the rear of the cab. It had auxillary tanks on it at one time and it had a hole with some felt between sheetmetall. Well the water just soaked the felt and rusted to holes out. There is also some body filler that is cracking on the passanger fender. The drop rail has some scaly rust and may have some pin holes.

I also need to make some roof supports to go on the inside. The rear portion will "oil can" when going down a rough road. Ans any road is a rough road in this truck.

The mpg "problem" is a good excuse, but I could buy a lot of gas for the money it is taking me to do the swap.

Ya, me too! I think that if I was doing this over again that I would use something more forgiving. My biggest concern is too much vibration being transfered to the rest of the chassis! I certainly will be suprised if my welds get ripped out

Stranger things have happened!
