Hard to say without seeing the truck and knowing its overall condition.

More or less, what is it worth to you?

If the engine and trans is good and usable to you, thats got to be worth a few grand in your eyes.

Yes its likely going to be a VE pumped engine. May or may not be intercooled/aftercooled.

If the guy wants more than that, then you need to do some thinking. If its an aluminum body, thats worth a few dollars in scrap aluminum and a few pennies in steel (if its all steel, its not really worth a damn for scrap). You can make back a bit of money selling the remainder of the truck for scrap either way, but its definitely nice to make back a few dollars if the initial purchase price was a little more than you had anticipated.

Is it this one?

Bread truck

Im stuck down in VA for work so I basically cruise craigslist on all my time off and saw this. Been eying it for a while...I probably would have made an offer except Im not sure how I'd drag it back home to NH...

Whether its that one or not, offer him like 1/2 what he's asking. I cant imagine theres a ton of people looking for them right now so he's probably not getting a lot of bites. If that is the one it looks to be in good shape, go check it out and offer him $2k to start, worst he can say is no

And if he wont take it walk away...he'll call you back, they always do
