straight piped the Mega Cab w/ the stainless header... OMFG

my 51" Donaldson had developed a hooting whistle that I thought was my friggin' ring and pinion it was so loud!

so I ordered a Corsa muffler and had Summit price match the best price I could find... but it won't ship till March (backorder)

Spent yesterday laying down like 4-5 layers of RaamAudio sound deadener. ZERO friggin' difference in interior resonance!

so I said F'it and ran 4" straight from the downpipe to the 5" tailpipe. It's louder inside, but not too bad. The annoying resonance is pretty much GONE!

and OMMFG

let me attempt to describe the sound of this thing... just putting around in the 1300-1800 range it sounds a bit like a 2nd gen 24v... but give it some throttle and RPM and it's a mix between a cracked out Cummins sled puller turning 5000+rpm and an old 2 stroke Jimmy!

I'm going to go through a LOT of fuel this weekend listening to this thing.

I can't IMAGINE how loud it would be with a wastegated turbo

I purchased a Corsa turbo-back and cat-back system from Street Side Auto (great price and 3-day delivery) and installed it in my garage. I was impressed with the packaging that ensured no damage to the items during shipment. Further, the quality and performance of these products were as advertised and they exceeded my expectations.

so you're running it sans cat? how's the interior resonance?

I've had my muffler here for a while, but I'm waiting till I swap turbos to install it. The straight pipe has gotten annoying on longer drives unless I'm turning 2500prm or more

I had the same concern regarding resonance in the cab with a new exhaust system. I did a significant amount of research (Corsa, Flowmaster, MBPR, Bully Dog, AFE…) before I decided on a system -- chose Corsa.

Removed the cat...4" stainless pipe from the turbo to the muffler continuing with 4" stainless pipe to the 5" exhaust tip. In my opinion, the interior sound is quieter than the stock system (4” pipe, cat, and muffler). At 1900 RPM, I turned the radio volume off and only heard road noise. The sound coming out of the exhaust is noticeable standing by the tail pipe. You can hear a distinct difference under a load/acceleration and quiets down when you let up on the accelerator. I made a short 100-mile round trip (600’ to 3000’ elevation) and had a 1-MPG increase at 70 MPH (average over 22 MPG).

Here is a website that is very close to what you can expect to hear:

oh, I'm pretty familiar, but the corsa sound recordings don't have a non-catted truck, and mine sounds a lot different anyhow w/ the 2nd gen equal length header and 68mm turbine wheel
