He actually earned an online PHD from Thornhill.

Also, the kicker. This guy was the lead researcher in ARB's testing!!! In other words this guys findings are partly responsible for us having to smog our trucks!

Read for yourself.
i thought it was pretty bad that he lied and they are still using his test results to pass this law.

Ive been talking to some people about it and the issue with them imposing the air regs for big trucks is that its not economically feasible, and right now the last thing we need is a bunch of trucking companies put out of business. so personally im not gonna worry until i get my smog notice in the mail

good luck on them trying to convince companies in this economy to pay to outfit trucks that dont belong to them.

Also I hav read that ARB would allow any outsiders to to review the research that Tran did to make sure everything was true and correct.

Exactly, you guys if you want to help write/email your local politicians! Ask them to appose the bill again, they are re-voting on it!

Alright, I'm still new to the diesel world but I finally had the chance to read this thread from page 1 until the last post. Now I'm lost and I can't find the page of who to email to tell them that they should oppose the bill. Since this would also be my first time trying to email a representative, what exactly do you guys write? Since the passing of the ammo bill/law and now this, I've had it. I would move but my entire family is here and I refuse to leave without them. I'm sick of the politics of this state and became apathetic for a while after seeing stuff happen regardless of whether or not we wanted it to, but this is just too much.

Dezl, if there's still a petition going on, sign me up. I have quite a few friends who own diesels - I can ask them too.

Hey Dlo, First off welcome to the world of diesels!

Secondly where are you located? I see it says bay area but well its a rather large area. I would first off suggest emailing your local politician, ask them what they think about the bill, if they appose it then ask them to sign it saying that they do appose it. Lastly you can contact Betty Plowman, she is a rep for CDTOA. You can check out their website to see what they do, her email addy is:

Thanks for the welcome. I'm located in the San jose area. I'll go ahead and look up my local representative, and send Betty an email.

Is your petition still going on, or has that kind of become a lost cause?

its some what of a lost cause at this point, I tried using an online petition and was later informed that it would need to be live signatures.

I tried to talk with some local shops about setting up a table during dyno days and what not to get signature and was turned down because it would bring "negative attention" to them. Doesn't make sense to me.

I dont see how it would bring negative attention. You would think they would be willing to help keep our trucks comeing to there door step. When are they supposed to re vote? I havent kept up on this lately as ive been following the gun laws. Im about ready to move outta here.
