But for how long? If we can nip it in the butt now no one would have to worry.

The snap test will cause most diesels (stock or bombed) to smoke and may hurt the turbo if done excessively. It appears California does not want diesels in the state.

obviously...

They ban the sale of state and government owned Diesel trucks sold at auction to buyers in the state of CA. They either need to be fitted with smog equipment (DPF) or need to be taken out of state. I am friends with the owner of a used commercial truck dealer and they can't buy x-government trucks and sell them to anyone in CA because the DMV won't register them.

I dont know about you guys but im feeling helpless. Most of this state is filled with uneducated greenies that think if you dont drive a hybrid then you hate the enviroment. They dont understand not only the fuel economy benefits but also the massive drop in emmissions that they test for on gassers. Everything across the board is low, HC, NOx, CO, CO2. All they see is black smoke and they associate that with what little they know. What can we do? "Its good for the earth" B.S. will always win out even if it is wrong. And anytime you try to back up your truths with REAL information they dont listen and dont care. Our elected officals are brainwashed with this garbage, the mass public is brainwashed and being "Green" is the new thing. A guy at work was trying to tell me that diesels are a high polluting vehicles. I called B.S. and told him to prove it, all he could come up with is the black smoke. He then got quite an education and what that smoke is and how the regualted pollutants are substantially lower on a comparable gas vehicle. Am I the only one that feels complete helpless?!?! What if we just start saying no? What if we ask them to prove it with truely sound science or we will not participate? Where are our rights to challenge this crap?

I think you took that out of context, it says that the engine speed cannot exceed 3000rpms for the "snap" test

So basically I am moving out of here soon then. I don't have time for this BS or the money.

I spent so much money trying to make this truck go fast and pay all those labor hours for what? To take all the performance parts off again and after smog put them back on? I think I should open a Diesel Shop now and get paid for removing and installing stock parts. Will be good money in the near future. Plus, to register my truck now it is like $1k+

This is going to sound extremely right winged and almost militant, but I dont know another way to say this.

I think the main problem with this is, that our ELECTED officials passed the bill to create this, the Nazi CARB have taken even farther, and without someone with really deep pockets to fight this there is nothing we can do. Our rights only extend to the depth of our pockets anymore.

Even if you get all of the diesel owners in the state to unite, it wont matter. They will by show of force and power defeat you if not financially, then physically.
Our Democracy has become a Tyranny for the fact that the people are afraid of the Government instead of the other way around.
