This builder has since decided not to honor his warranty at all I will have to cut thousands in loses and find a reputable builder. As for the damage in shipping the converter mearly walked out on the input shaft and broke the thin sheet metal straps holding it in place the strap was only there for shipping purposes. For you guys who have so much faith in a builder who you have never used by all means put your money where your mouth is and buy from a guy who will quickly tell you a non billet input will hold 600hp. I'm sure you will be as pleased as I was.

Expecting him to honour his warrenty after you have taken him to court seems a little unrealistic

Honoring the warranty was part of the court settlement and why is it bad to think someone should stand behind their product without having to go to court. Let me remind you guys this is the second tranny he sent me the first only lasted two weeks.

As an auto mechanic and business owner of many years, let me give you a little insight, "sometimes good jobs just go bad". We are a very reputable shop who takes the utmost pride in the quality of work that we do. Sometimes parts fail, sometimes things get missed, sometimes sh$$ does happen. The biggest point here is that this man offered to fix the probelm and was willing to do that as many times as needed to make you a satisfied customer. You chose not to exercise that option and install a known damaged part. Trust me, I feel for your frustration but he tried to make it right. You turned around, sued this man and tried to take food off his table. I wouldn't want to help you out either. I hope you get this worked out and get your satisfaction. It doesn't sound like either party walked away on the upside of this transaction. Good luck.

My question is why did he install it after he was told not to and knew it could have been damaged. Also why did he buy the trans if he feel it was not what it is suppose to be. The vendor claims it will hold 600hp and you must have believed him but now you say anyone who things a non billet input trans can hold 600hp is a idoit. I am curious what tests have been to justify the 600hp mark? There is always 2 sides to a story. I am not taking either side

Pretty sure my truck doesn't make 600hp only running k&N, exhaust, and a smarty. Would be a good advertisement for madds electronics though. Don't care about slamming shop but if I can keep one kid who saved all summer to put a bad tranny in his truck from wasting money thats what I'm here for.

I don't blame him either. If he really asked you not to install the tranny damaged in shipment and offered free return shipping, why did you install it? I don't care if it only looked like the converter slipped out but installed fine...apparently that wasn't the only problem. He shouldn't have to pay for the removal because he asked you not to install it. I think you dug your on hole on this one...just my 2 cents. Sucks for both you guys.

That is pretty much the way I see it. Are we wrong?

but the trans was broke when you recieved it wasnt it? so it could have the potentail to hold 600hp if it was built right lol

idk what do you guys think a built trans with more clutches torque converter valve body but no billet parts is capable of holding horse power wise?
