Pretty good info. I live in victoria it's realy not that bad of a place to live the pace is deff slower than van or edmonton. remember were on island time lol westernspeedway isin't even an 1/8 mile, it's short but still lots of fun. Housing is on the high side but that's not to say that you still can't find good deals. For diesel performance shops thier is only one on the island that I know of Harbour city diesel and off road(in nanaimo) guy who own's it is a realy good guy.
For jobs well pretty much everywhere is looking.
You asked about the nanaimo to vic drive I think its 100-100km just over an hr. drive pending on traffic and how you drive, not that bad I do it every time I need stuff for my truck.
