Where do you buy your oil?

I used to buy Rotella when it came on sale at Cdn Tire, then I switched to the Valvoline and but it at Cummins in Port Kells. First time I went there the parts guy was a good sh!t, even gave me a free stainless coffee cup.

Now whenever I go there I get this jerk who won't give me a deal even when I mention my neighbour who works there, he says even staff doesn't get a discount which we all know is BS.
Anyhow, I bought a 5 gallon (18.9litre) pail the other day it came to over 100 bucks with taxes!
There's gotta be better deals out there for Valvoline?

i got valvoline blue at autozone for $13USD a gallon. which is a heck of a lot cheaper than the $95ish USD your oil cost.

Not much cheaper, you paid $80 US, I paid 93 Cdn including some environmental thing.

Maybe oil's just gone up since I bought it last?

I stay with Rotella and yes some of the Cummins staff are such snobs, sort of ruins it for the image. I Buy my Rotella at Max Traction or CTC. Usually I buy 12 Pails at a time or 12 months of oil. I use all 20 litres on each change, nominal 20K, nominal 1 month. I have a Harvard 156 so my total system holds 20 litres. With the EGR and DPF gone the oil is good for 20K when stock it was marginal at 5K.

Question

Hey there,

Bought 5Ltr. jug at Cummins in Kamloops, $25.51 +all the taxes. Also got a Fleetguard filter LF3894 for $16.89.

Wife was there shopping so she picked it up, why would they give her the LF3894 filter when she asked for LF16035 or the LF3972?

Will the LF3894 work on a 6.7 Ltr.? All the measurements look the same comparing the 2 filters on Cummins Filtration web site.

TIA

AMSOIL has two warehouses in Canada so shipping isn't an expensive cross-border issue.

Hey fisherguy, A colleague of mine from the Westwood motorcycle racing club is a amsoil dealer so I can ask him what he can get it for! I have used amsoil in my racebikes and he sells it to me at his cost. I actualy was just thinking about switching to amsoil from rotella if the cost is comparable. He also told me about the oil bypass filter system that amsoil makes.

I'll ask him and get back to you! I'm guessing you are looking for 15w40?

On a side note: it was great meeting some of the other members on here at the Fox and Hound yesterday! Mudslinger needs a stepladder just to get up into his truck

Great bunch of guys and some really nice looking trucks! I was kicking myself for not bringing my camera

See you in the afternoon on dyno days!!

Well sure, thanks.
I hadn't considered going to Amsoil cuz of the price. I've always used plain old oiul in all my vehicles and have never had a problem.

Was a good get together yesterday, only thing we didn't have there was a 6.7.
Seeya Saturday
Will
