Super B on 12V

Truck ran on Dyno with 396/783. Had to have the wastegate removed because it wouldnt fit the oil drain back on the turbo. I bought it used so maybe there was something in the original kit that I didnt get. Is there anyway to reconnect the adjustable wastegate for use? Second question is, how much boost should I see while cruising? Seems really low, sits on 0 unless climbing a hill or passing someone. I have the waste gate wired shut but not a safe feeling with the fuel Im pushing. Im happy, just want to get it dialed in properly. Thanks.

Does not fit how, is it just too tight of clearances in there?

On the odd one sometimes we have to bend the oil drain a bit to get clearance.

While cruising with very little load it is normal to see little to no boost, as soon as you get any load on the truck you should see 5-10PSI.

The Super B should not be pushed past 45PSI.

Are you running gauges; if so, what kind of boost are you seeing?

The Super B is out first stage turbo charger for the 94-07 Dodge 5.9L.

It is based off the Borg Warner S300 Turbo and includes a 4" downpipe and adjustable wastegate.

The wastegate installed on the turbo would not leave me room to install the oil return. Even with the actuator removed, I still had to take my oil return and dent it because the compressor outlet with the clamp on was in the way. I do have gauges but only a 35lb gauge (wife ordered them), I dont even know why they sell a 35lb gauge on diesel performance websites. Anyhow, Im sure it is reaching its max potential when under hard acceleration because I have no wastegate. I am going to attempt to install the actuator now since everything is buttoned up. My other question was how to correctly adjust the wastegate. I know I can hook up regulated shop air and adjust the arm. My question is, do I set it so that the pressure just starts to open the gate or do I set it where the pressure has the gate completely open. I would think to set it right when the rod starts to move for safety sake. Let me know if I am incorrect in my assumption and thanks for all the help.

Thats correct, you want to set it for when the wastegate just starts to open.

Ok. After re-evaluating the set up, I got the wastegate on. It was easier to install it as the last part after everything else was connected. It is a tight fit and the rod rubs the oil return line slightly but I will be making a custom return line soon. Wastegate set a 30psi until I get my 60lb gauge in for accurate readings. Thanks for all the help.

In my directions for my super b, It actually said bend the wastegate rod.....I was very sketched about this. but sure enough, it hit and I had to bend it...you would think a big name like bd would not have some cheezy modifications such as this for the consumer to make.

I do apologies for that and I agree it would be nice if some did not have to be bent.

I had to bend mine a tad which was pretty easy but my brothers was fine?

When designing product like this the factory variables from truck to truck are greater than most would think, some trucks are built in different plants etc...

You should see the challenges our engineers are faced with making our Cool-It Intercooler and race twins fit the 2nd gens with such tight tolerances and variances from truck to truck

If you have ever have the chance to look at the fit and finish of a BD Twins Turbo kit compared to the install of some other twins kits out there you would agree out engineers are top notch
