Which turbo?

Hi Dave. Need your guidance on which turbo would be right for me. I'll be installing some 125hp sticks within the next couple weeks with the plan of doin an Edge comp and Smarty in the future. This truck is my DD with the occasional firewood and junk hauling. Do not tow with it. I can't decide between the Super B or the Special. I know the Special is like a 64/71/14 but what about the Super B? My main concerns are everyday driving so quick spool-up and low to mid-range power is more important than top speed/max-hp. Granted I do the occasional playing and dyno event too. Spool-up doesn't have to be as quick as stock but I also don't want to spin the engine up to 2 grand to get the truck moving. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Because you are not towing I would recommend the Super B Special. You will need to that Edge and Smarty in there to have the drive pressure so that spool up is not an issue.

The Single is nice cause it spools up so fast and can be upgraded to twins very easily. With those planned mods you will push the Single out of its efficiency range.

The Special is a really good spooling turbo for its size and I think it will be a good fit for you. Some times I over-emphasize the lag on the Special compared to the Single so guys do not buy when for heavy towing thinking bigger is better. With the right drive pressure, it spools great and is awesome on the top end!

Hope this helps

Your welcome but when you say expert, I am sure you do not mean my writing skills LOL

"Special compared to the Single so guys do not buy when for heavy towing thinking bigger is better"

Just read that again
