help with rust

My doors are rusting on the inside where the folded seam is, on the bottom of each door. Nothing showing through on the outside yet. Rock chips and bubbled rust spots are common here, so I know what to do with them, but how about this area?

Would going at it with steel wool or a Dremel tool to get off surface rust, then DTM rust primer (Tremclad, Rustoleum) then touch up with body color be of use? It doesn't have to be pretty, just effective at preventing rust perforation and me needing new doors.

Anybody have any suggestions?

I heard rust bullet is the best product in stopping it. I'm tackling my door seams with it as soon as it arrives in the mail and will make a post to how it goes.

sand blast, rust mort, then finish and paint. However rust on the outside means rust on the inside and it will come back. Dodges are famous for there...well they all are i guess. Can't wait to see what the new ones will be like with rubber trim and seals on the bottom. I always peel back the rubber and pressure wash because you should see the crap that always gets under there.

I forgot about POR-15. I haven't used it but it's popular on many other vehicle forums I've read. Thanks.

I have used por 15 and its works great. I have used it as a sealer on bare panels before filler and no rust flashing. just don't use it as a top coat. It is UV sensative.

i used permatex rust converter in a can. it converts to black oxide. you actually see it work. i top coated with rustoleum primer and rustoleum satin black. i had rust in my cab under the carpet. so bad the carpet was stuck to the cab.
