Help Smoking out Cab Lights

Alright guys I want smoked out cab lights on my truck but I dont wana have to buy a hole new kit and everything...I know its been done so how can I jus take the lens off and smoke the existing orange lens?

Unbolt the lights, disconnect the wiring, paint them, connect the wiring, bolt down the lights and you are done.

ok i need to know prep work? what to paint with? lil more detailed then that

Just make sure they are clean. No need to sand or anything. I would recommend using VHT instead of spray paint. I used this on my taillights and the light still shows up just fine.

nice, that VHT stuff is great. just do it in light coats b/c it'll get dark quick before you know it. also make sure you clear over them when your done to make em' shiny.

thanks... I will do like i said im gonna do some experimenting this wknd and get a lil experience at it before I start spraying.... I just dont understand why we can't get jus the lens covers like the Ford guys can do its like $20-$30 for those guys to get smoked lens where we have to buy the entire kit.....

I don't believe so. My buddy ordered 2 cans about a month ago off of the internet. He said it was on backorder everywhere else. I just used what he had left on my tails. You are supposed to do one coat horizontally and one vertically. So I assume it acts as a polarizer. I just did about 2 coats vertically and it gave it a nice smokey color. Not too dark and not too light.
