Painting Stock Badges!!

Looked for some info if anyone has painted their stock badges, with no luck. I want to black everything out, and was wondering if anyone has painted their plastic emblems. I want to do my cummins badges on the fenders in black, and cut off the Turbo Diesel part of it, because you wont be able to see it anyways. Maybe even the Ram Head on the Grille and center of the Tailgate. Post Pics if anyone has done it, and what kind of paint was used for the plastic.

I have thought about these options, but wondering if it will hold up. Thanks for the reply's guys, and hopefully someone will chime in with some experience with this. If nothing else, i guess I am gonna have to give billetbadges.com a call, and get some made!!

I will probably still try to paint them, and see how it comes out first.

yeah that would cost you some $$$........yeah , i would just paint it. just make sure you prep it right. clean it sand it (wet sand w/1000-1500grit). paint it, then clear coat it..........

im pretty sure you cant powerdercoat the stock emblem as they are made outta plastic. and powerdercoat need s to be certain kind of metal........needs a magnetic charge.

you know what would look kinda sick IMO, is to paint the emblems as you did your head lights, but only on the face of the emblems and the side of the emblem use that metalic black..............

Yeah, thats a thought Dom, and I know powdercoating wont work on the plastic. Thanks for the suggestions, and I will try the all black first, and see how it looks. I think it will stick out, since I am going for the color matched or black theme. There will be no chrome, except for the stars on my wheels, and the inside of the headlight, which you have seen, when I am done with it. The idea about the color matching might not look bad though, and I will see what I can come up with. Either way, I will definitely do the prep right, and hopefully it will hold up for a while. I have talked to the guy from Billetbadges.com, and it can add up real fast, if I get black powdercoated emblems made.

Any ideas on what would be the best paint for plastic badges, besides the Krylon Fusion paint?

woops, i thought the new badges were metal

i couldnt believe the ones off my 2nd were plastic, but anything to save money i guess...if its plastic, there s krylon plasti bond for about 5 bucks a can, it goes on flat black and has this crazy way of fusing with the plasting
