Smoked lights

How do I go about smoking lights on my truck? do I spray the inside or outside? Cause I smoke a set of lights on my old 97 chevy once upon a time but I did the insides...I have read a few threads and it seems you some of you guys are smoking the outsides...I would also like to do the thrid brake light...And the headlights...I saw a guy that did his headlights around the reflective surface...looked nice....any info you guys can give would be greatly appreciated....

Thanks

Yes I did a search on here and it pulled up a few threads...basically if was scuff the outside with some like 2000 grit paper...clean it off with some paint thinner or something like that....then get the VHT-night shades stuff.....a couple of thin coats...and maybe a coat of clear or two......I can do that....but what I am really interested in was doing my headlights...I havent pulled one out yet to take a look at it but how do you get them apart....and when you do....I didnt want to tent the lens itself...I wanted to paint the chrome part of the lights...around the reflective surfaces for the headlights...black.....I know it can be done...I just would like to know who has done it if they have any advise to give because I am going to attempt it one way or another..I would just rather not have to buy another headlight if I screw one up....

I'd say the blacked stock lights with the halos and LED bar at the bottom off of aftermarket lights...

I too would like to know where he got those or what he actually did do to make them. But it seems as if he only gets online to start a new post of what he did and doesn't come back online until he does something different.
