Fixing a cracked Sport frt bumper
I cracked the frt bumper on my 01 Sport. Anyone know what these are made of? And what kind of epoxy or glue a guy could use to fix it? Thanks |

Thanks, but I'm sure it can be fixed, just not sure what product to use to bond it together.

More then likely it is abs, poly, urethane or anothe plastic that can really only be fixed properly one way.... weld it, any glue or surface application that you use will still need to be repaired with filler to be painted anyways so you may as well plastic weld and bonded to the core. A good plastic welder uses a plastic stick like rods. melts it all back together and then it can be smoothed over, repaired, primed and painted. much cheaper but time consuming.. Of course if you buy all the tools to do it you will be spending alot so it might be better to buy it.... unless you plan to do alot of plastic welding.

The bumper should say on it somewhere what kind of plastic it is. Cracks are easy to fix.......plastic welding is becoming more obsolete these days but does still work yes. 3m makes good quality plastic repair kits, I have used just a simple mesh tape with a product called Fusor 142 it works good too. Let me know if you need help on how to do it
