cowl induction hood

just got a cowl induction hood today!! will be painting it tonite, excited to see how it looks on the truck!!

YEAH - post some pics - and pertinant info, such as brand, price and what it cost to have painted - I'm sorta interested on one of those myself - purely for looks...

I am wondering what would the advantage be to having one? verses a reg stock hood?

To the extent of my knowledge there is absolutly no reason for them just for looks, the only this that i can think of is maybe in the 60's and 70's for putting a big holley 4 barrel on 350 might not fit so well with stock hood. But i really dont know

no reason at all other than looks!!! hood cost me $309. it is a reflexxion domination hood with about a 2 inch rise. cost me nothing to paint it, i am a body and paint tech!!! not sure how much they are regular price, i get a pretty good discount on stuff like that.

True cowl hoods would allow air from the windshield and cowl to enter the engine bay to help feed the motor. Later on they were used for looks and the ability to stuff more under the hood. I actually fit a Weiand 144 blower and Barry Grant demon carb under the 4 3/4 cowl hood I have on my 65 Malibu.

How tall do they make the cowl hoods for these, I would like to get a 4 3/4 for my truck so they match.
