Bz using 3/16's i didnt even think to use the sawzall, i'll give that a try, i needed the torch for another project i got coming so it just gave me a reason

Bulldog i got a decent 110 mig and in the process of waiting for the maint. dept at our shop to upgrade our machines, i got a word in for a feeder and powersource, our machines at work are setup to run 100% duty cycle, would be nice to have it at home as well, could use the plasma from work to unfortunately i dont have 220 in the garage yet which means couldnt run the plasma or the comp.

Got the main hunk of the bumper together today, got a late start went to the welding store to get my bottles filled and ended up bsing with a guy i know there for a few hours, but made good progress, need to get the corners done and figure out my mounting. Looks better in person than pics decided to drop it around the hitch to clean up the back end a lil. Pretty damn beefy though once its all welded up should be bulletproof. Pretty happy so far going smooth corners are gonna be a pain though

The baddest bumper that I saw was on a 2g dually in the parking lotat the monster truck rally. You know the big brushed stainless guards on both ends of the fuel pump islands at the local gas station? Well that's what it looked like. It had round caps on the ends and wrapped around the corners. It looks liked you coulda jacked the truck up from it.

You work fast.... Bumper is looking good, cant wait to see it finished. Are you painting it or having it coated?

As of now i'm going to paint it cause i think that will kinda set it off with all the angles and what not but well see, going to start the corners here shortly
Kinda funny you mention going fast cause i work in a production welding shop so sppeds the neame of the game, i had just gotten my plate area on the truck and the neighbor kid came over and his old mans ready to kill him cause he dont wanna do anything and keeps getting in trouble and its funny cause i see alot of me when i was his age, he all of a sudden took this liking to cutting and welding and playing with metal when he came over so i was kinda working with him, we were having a good time but i kept going man i'm loosing my here lol guess when i look at what i got done in about 7 hours i cant complain to much

Got the center and bottom and part of the top of the corners done today, got some spots cut and trimmed to make the corners fit better, angled the bottom around the reciever to give me a lil better clearance to hook my safety chains, corners were a PITA but i am symetrical left and right so the time was worth it...Got one more piece to put on the corners and the top part for the corners then gonna weld that all up and start figuring out my mounting and gussets on the backside, dont see myself getting much done on it during the week though

Pretty happy with it, keep reading all these horror storys about the crappy product or service they getting when dropping 2K+ on "name brand" bumpers....I got just under 40 bucks invested into this bastard right now

Coming along nice... I don't know if it is the camera angle but it does look like it is hanging a bit low on the corners.. Let see more pics..

Theres a few spots it is, found it a lil easier to get it pretty damn close and then run a chalk line and grind all the high spots down to even everything out, hadnt got around to doing it on the corners yet, didnt get a chance to mess with it yesterday, and its downpouring right now so i really dont wanna pull my camaro out of the garage
