Color matched is the way to go..

My question is if you paint the mirrors do you have to keep them in the upright position? I haven't seen any trucks with the mirrors down after painting .

Not bad, just scuff it up with fine sandpaper, and then prime and away you go. As long as you take the time to prep it properly, it will work well. If you don't, it will chip and flake off easily.

The only time I have my mirrors out is when towing a trailer or with 2 sleds on the deck. Again, taking the time to do it right will save you a lot of greif in the long run. I flip them back and forth as needed, no problems.

They are mountain sleds, so they are set up more for bottom end torque than top speed. But on the flat, I think I've had mine up to about 85-90 miles an hour. But bottomless powder is where its at. Floating through, carving around, its great. I can't get enough.
