Not sure about theirs but I have a MPI kit with the stock turbo and a S-400(about the same size as the A5K). If it's anything like my kit it should ROCK!! Spool up should be awesome.
Yep... That set up should lite like a rocket... In essence they are almost exactly the same.. I think the s400 is a hair bigger than the aurora 5k.. (can't remember the mm size at the moment). but like Alcook said... that set up lites quick and hauls arse...

ive ran the A5k as a single and it has been a good turbo that probably doesnt answer your question but it is part of it. I think it would spool really well with decent fuel. I wont disagree with the fact of you get what you pay for either and the mpi kits are very nice I would like to run that setup on my truck someday

I don't know about the silicone boots tho...
Whats the deal with the silicone boots? I thought these kind of boots were really good?

just a preference... I don't see how the silicone boots can handle the higher boost numbers... I could be wrong.

These are 5-ply silicone tubes, and they are extremely durable (rated over 170 psi, and temperature resistant up over 480*). We started using the same tubes on our bigger compounds too, several months ago, and I personally have not had any report of rupture since we made that change. Even clamp failures seem less common, I'd suppose because they don't have to bear as much load anymore & don't have another clamp attached to a component with a tendency to move differently working against it, nor the focused pressure that you get on traditional boots.
We still use a steel pipe for half of the connection between the 2 chargers, but added the silicone hose in for a few reasons. One because it's one less joint or junction in the works, meaning one less failure point by clamping the tube itself as opposed to a boot & 2 clamps. Alignment is another issue solved with this set up. Since there are fewer pieces involved overall, and since the pieces involved can move with the other components, reliability is gained over rigid pipes where components that may be trying to shift in different directions cause tugging & straining on everything or moving in & out of alignment with other pieces. When using 2 steel pipes welded together, you've got a hidden weld joint & the possibility of a ball of material inside that can come loose. I know that's not highly likely of course, but it's another potential problem that will never come up with these.
Also, having some flexibility there means they're easier to work with during install. Obviously, none of these things is a catastrophic failure of metal pipes, and I’m by no means attempting to discredit systems that use them. Metal pipes are absolutely not a quality concern, but we felt this was a step toward improved quality in reliability, longevity, performance, and ease of install.

They run $3,900 for the Plus 5000 or $3,250 for the Plus 4000, including intake & 3pc Exhaust Manifold. elephantrider, you wouldn't have to rebuild your stock turbo unless it's worn out or tired right now - the thing to keep in mind is that it's actually taking some strain off the stocker, not working it harder.
trev, they're not offered for trucks earlier than 2003 at this point, although we've got the complete compound system out using the Aurora 3000 & 5000 if you'd like some information on that.
