Razorbacks football

You guys are boring, so here is something to talk about. I guess you've heard that Frank Broyles announced his resignation as the Athletic Director. It seems that change is upon us, although he won't retire until the end of 2007.

I think if we can get rid of Houston Nutt and get a head coach with a little talent in there, we'll be able to produce a powerhouse in about 4 years. This year is going to be decent because we have a few good players left, but our recruiting SUCKED thanks to Houston Nutt. Once he is gone, it will take about 3 years (in my opinion) to turn the program around and get it on the right track where we can start being a good team every single year, instead of having a good season once every decade or so.

What do you think about the situation? It seems that about 70% of the state wants Frankennutt gone, while 30% wants them to stay. I'm kind of curious how you guys feel about it all.

I totally agree. We blew it this year. Nutt should have been the one to go. Malzon and Mustain would still be here and we'd have a shot for next year.

I'm not a football expert, but I know you can't run the ball every play and expect to win all the time. It just won't happen.

And I know that I'm not boring... You spent too much time with Nick! LMAO! Just kiddin', Nicholas!

Arkansas just doesn't have the pull or the support to ever be a powerhouse IMO.

You're wrong, period.

We have the facilities, the fan support (I have no idea where you get the idea that we don't have the support), and the $$$$ (you would be shocked if you knew the amount that the Razorback Foundation is worth) to be nationally competitive.

If you can attract players to come to Blacksburg VA, Baton Rouge LA (hell hole if there ever was one), West VA, South Bend IN, Tuscaloosa AL, Auburn AL, Omaha NE, etc.......they will come to Fayetteville Arkansas. Hell, we attracted that type of talent when we were in the SWC. The nosedive that we took in the 90's can be traced back to Ken Hatfield leaving the cupboard bare because he had enough of Broyles and in essence stopped recruiting.

Frank Broyles and Houston Hutt are cancers, plain and simple. AD for life should have left 10 years ago and we wouldn't have been in this situation. Nutt plays the political role brilliantly, which is why he is still here. As long as AD for life is here (Broyles) you can bank that Nutt will be here.

Don't get me started on Razorback athletics..........I stopped contributing to the foundation last year because of the cluster on The Hill, and will renew my tickets, but I've already lined up people that will take them off my hands. I'm sick of supporting the dysfunctional and incestous mess in the Broyles Complex.

I have way to many contacts and to say I'm soured by what has gone on within the walls of the broyles complex is an understatement.

FWIW, even though this is considered Broyles' last year he will have no power in decision making. Nutt's days are also numbered, and he knows it. Brighter days are ahead and expect the pocket book to be opened wide when we look for our next football and basketball coach.

Time to go kick the dog

Okay, it's getting boring in here again. Nutt has to go. I like the sign up at Loafin' Joe's in Rogers. It says "The wrong coach left U of A". hahah

Joyce won't stop bragging about cf.com, so I guess I'll start dropping by.

Do any of you guys get on any Razorback forums? I go to Hogville.net but I don't really post much, or read much these days, for that matter.

Nutt is on his way out though. It's only a matter of time now that Broyles is powerless. Nutt has the longest tenure of any coach without a championship of some sort. Here is HDN pictured with all of his trophies:

You go to the best Razorback forum then. I'm one of the mods on Hogville. Our membership is nearing 21,000 people....hard to believe how fast our board has grown.

No kidding? I go by the same username over there. I've started posting in the Tavern a little bit but I'm pretty quiet. I had a few good posts about football during the season but I've started to realize that everything gets said about 20 times because there are so many people.

I think I'm going to try and make it to one of the Hogville.net baseball tailgates this spring. If not, I'll definitely swing by during football season.

I agree. I stopped reading the main board due to the same drivel over and over. The Tavern is a great place, at least for the guys

Some of the threads that are started in The Tavern teeter in the grey area, but that makes for good times.

For those interested....Hogville.net - Index
