Talking Diesel 101

OK so now I know what I should have done before I did what I did. IE install better lift pump before you ask cummins for more gitty up. I am going to install the air dog system is there any chance the IP will continue to work, if yes great if no, go back to stock IP or what? I am already fighting high egt and I am pretty happy with the way my truck runs so I might be looking at water methanol injection but not much more.

If you got the 0216 code i'm pretty sure your injection pump is done, but with an air dog feeding the new one should be trouble free for many miles, addin a little 2 stroke to the fuel will definitley help you out also. A cold air intake or bhaf and a 4 or 5 inch exhaust should tame your egts also. Where is your egt probe at and what kind of readings are you getting?
Also, if you go under user cp in the black bar upper left of your screen and fill out your signature with your truck info people will be able to give you a bit more info.

i have basically the same truck and pullin my fifth wheel i will rarely even see 1200 up a steep grade. a good towin chip like an edge ez or quadzilla xzt+ and a turnbuckle on the turbo to open it up a little more might also help

probe placement

Pre turbo in the flow path of the rear 3 cylinders. OK and now you have hit me with another term I am not use to, I mean I know what a turn buckle is but there must be one for the turbo linkage?

with our turbo you can put a regular hardware turnbuckle on the wastegate to gain 10-12 lbs of boost, need a boost foller or chip that does boost folling though or you'll trip overboost codes.
