Phoenix clutch install

I am about ready to upgrade my clutch in my 6.7l. I searched the forum for a Phoenix shop to install but never actually saw a shop name for the $400 price range. I did a search a while back and I thought everyone said shelbuilt had a shop?

Another question is do I need a dual disk? I only have an Edge Juice and MP8 and i dont plan on doing anything else performance wise to the truck. I tow a car trailer and travel trailer a couple times a year. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

there is alot of different opinions on what clutch to get.. i would call up south bend or vailiar or whatever company you choose for your clutch just naming a few and tell them what you do and whats done to your truck and they will let you know what clutch they think will suit you the best.. i love my double disk and wont turn back

i would just go with a 3600 dual disk strapped centerplate and a diaphragm type pressure plate and get it over with.... no chatter and easy pedal pressure.

Jeff,

I think you are doing the right thing asking for advice regarding a clutch.

If it were me, I would get in touch with Peter at Southbend Clutch, tell him what you have & what you want to do (trailer pulling) & see what he recommends. Some clutches are very "grabby" & wouldn't work well in trailer towing applications, from what I've heard.

The recommendation of Fred Swanson is a good one, also, in my opinion. He has a reputation of doing quality work & is a tranny guy.

Personally, I don't know enough about the subject to recommend an actual clutch but, that's what I'd do if I were in the market for one.

i do have a shop where i work on trucks.

i have not really tried to publicate on this forum as i do not want the anomosity that can lure. i would just like to blow in and out and help when i can.

I like fred he has probably done a few of these as i have not done a 6.7 clutch we tend to stay with the older more custom and hot rod stuff along with straight tow rigs for hot shot guys mainly 12vs and vp 24v and other diesel brands.

we can surely manage a clutch job on your truck with no problem. nothing is out of the ordanairy on a 6.7 clutch. as far as recommendations on clutch type and brand you can all me at 623 910 6925 and i ask you some questions and set you up with some options; as fas as clutch selections and brands along with the dos and donts as i know it to be of kevlar, organic, ceramic, and feramic ect.
