Congrats!

I'm on my 11th batch. They're shipping me a replacement 190 but I can use this one until the new one gets here.

Great customer support from the factory and dealer (utah bio).

I have 3 fill tubes. Yours has 1. Where do you dump sulfuric, methanol, methoxide?? Maybe the methanol and sulfuric get dumped into the main opening?

the 150 has these 2 yellow things that when full of methanol or on the 2nd round methoxide a little red thing pops up out of it.

in the manuel it shows them marked: left=methanol right=methoxide

mine are not marked at all

when i was adding methanol the first time the one on the right popped up, so I thought ok the are backwards. When I added methanol the 2nd time (when the other is suspose to pop up showing full for methoxide) the right one popped up again.

Soooooooooooooooooooo I have sent an email to who i bought it from, guess we will see.

On another note: is it normal for there to be a white soap like substance on the front glass and one side of the tank? I know that during the process a little bit of soap is made, just dont know it its normal for it to stick to the glass and side like that.

2nd thing is it suspose to have a STRONG smell of methanol if you lift the lid during the process?

these may be nothing but hey its the 1st batch and i just want to know.

you have to have KOH (potasium hydroxide) or NaOH (sadium hydroxide), sulfuric acid 93+% pure, and the oil. I get my used oil from a friend who w\owns 2 mexican food resturants.

right now costing me time, electricty, and for money $0.94 a gallon

Biopro's

Well you'll need your processing equipment of course, whichever you choose (biopro, appleseed, conetank, etc).

You will also need to purchase methanol, either NaOH or KOH (catalyst), sulfuric acid (93% or better) and source your oil.

I purchase my oil at .50 cents a gallon, methanol at $3.75 gallon, sulfuric at $15.00 gallon, and KOH for $80.00 per 100 lb drum.

My total cost comes out to $1.60 per gallon. I also recover methanol from the glycerine, which drops my costs even further. I keep a pretty elaborate spreadsheet to track costs to know when I've paid for my Biopro 190.

I use to run a large plastic tank system, but way to many ball valves to run (timewise). I thought long and hard for 2 yrs before buying my 190 - I love this thing as it frees me up to continue running my business and not playing with all the valves on the old system. I eventually became a Biopro dealer. Jim

What ratio of biodiesel are you going to run?

I am thinking of making biodiesel but don't know what % I could go to.

Wife and I have been talking about this bio-fuel. This is one of the most compact machines I've seen. I guess it's getting over that $5k price tag.

Congrats on the purchase!

Get the 190. My dealer stopped selling the 150 because they're "a PITA!"
