I recently went to order some oil, filters, air filters, and few other things and I was floored when I totaled everything up. With sales tax and the fuel surcharge, it added 1/3 more to the price. I think Amsoil might be competing with John Deere on pricing.

is it just me or does anyone else think its funny that on other Amsoil threads the amsoil guys jump all over it, but this one hasent really taken off.

Dont get me wrong amsoil makes great stuff and I use it myself. but it is just too hard to justify the EXTRA cash. it always sucked to pay tax and shipping, but i just did it.

Being a dealer is nothing more then being a valued customer for 20 bucks a year. Although they make great products, im prolly switching to royal purple or redline just because of the fact that its cheaper and alot of people locally have that stuff in stock as amsoil is hard to come by in stock. Not to mention that there sales team is a bunch of freaking morons and dont even know 3/4 of the parts they sell. There tech group is great though.

Well I am a dealer (oops did I say that out loud) and I agree, yes for somethings you get what you pay for but when I can go to cummins northwest and get a fuel filter for $15 why would I pay more for something through amsoil? Yes the oil is expensive, I know especally with the price of fuel its even worse, but you have to look past that at the end result.

as most have said amsoil does make a great produc but I cant justify paying the prices. I asked a dealer on here for an air filter, fuel, oil and some other goodies and it was almost double what I ended up paying for the normal stuff I have been using for ever. I do believe in running a good product but when i need a second job to afford it, well I draw the line.

I don't get it if you can find what ever your wanting to buy for your truck cheaper at one place then at another then why are complain about it Here? I'm sure a lot of places sell stuff cheaper then other places so why complain about it, if you don't like someones prices your free to buy some place that sells it cheaper.

Don't get me started on my opinions of how amsoil runs there business. if i did to my customers what they have done to mine and myself i would be out of business. it is to bad that they are still living in the 70's with there marketing plan and feel that they need to be so pricey. they have raised there prices 3 times in the last year with the latest one being there "TEMPORARY" fuel surcharge? this is like waiting for the fuel prices to hit 2.50 a gallon again if we think they are going to eliminate it someday. Due to there price increases Icebox has chosen to offer a more price competitive filter too.

I have begged and pleaded with them directly on some of the issues i have had and they just tell me to bad and that is it. They have not bent one of there supposed rules for anyone. I deal with manufactures all day long that bend over backwards to help out and amsoil is not one of them.

Like stated above good product terrible customer relations and dealer support.

John
