yup, set it at whatever you want, you could run the system at idle if you like.

Good luck. I built my own on my 93. Loved it. Here are a couple links that helped me with my build.

Diesel Injection

TheDieselStop.Com - www.thedieselstop.com

I went with a perm. mounted propane tank off an old farm truck. You have to pay road tax on it but worth it. Nice power felt, improved mileage lower egt. Dang I should have kept my tank when I traded pickups!!!

OK. Got my kit installed today!! Went in great, very easy to install. I have 2psi out of the regulator and the Hobbs switch set to 2psi. Before the kit the MPG meter was pretty close to correct, due to the bigger tires without correction, based on hand calculation. When I would reset the meter with the cruise control set on 65 it would read 16-16.5mpg. Today when I reset it at 65, it read 28.5!!!!!!! If this holds true thats a 12mpg gain!!!!!! I know that this is a bit premature but I am optimistic.

Well I have only put about 200 miles on the truck since install and the MPG meter has settled around 23.5 with a good bit of stop and go in town so Im pretty happy. The system works great so far.

Overhead. But since I have not reprogrammed the computer to correct for the 35s the overhead has been pretty close to correct base on previous hand calculations.

I already had a number of the parts is the reason mine is so cheap. Heres my parts list.

20Lb BBQ tank - Had
Acetylene Regulator - Had
20' or 1/4" Air hose - $5.40
1/4" Solenoid Valve - $28.00 Shipped
2psi Hobbs Switch - - $26.00 Shipped
Various fittings and clamps - ~$15.00

Here is a quick diagram I drew up in paint. Hobbs switch is a pressure switch screwed into the intake manifold to see boost.

Looks like a simple straight forward system. Once I get my house rented I'll get gauges and for aroudn 100 bucks why not experiment with some propane.

What year is your truck?
