The inlet size will affect the volume of propane being injected into the system, since volume is a function not only of pressure, but of orifice size. Obviously patracy's played with his pressures enough to figure it out... I'm going to buy a dry nitrous (stainless) orifice for mine, just so I don't have to fab something.

update: my 1st propane tank didn't work out too well, i was not able to get consistence output through my propane regulator. I used up the whole bbq tank in less than 500 miles and the total mpg was 24mpg not counting the propane usage. So in reality im not gaining anything. Previous test was done with too many variable, so this time im trying to keep the propane setting as low as posible but the regulator is too touchy and the guage is too sensitive to a point that it keeps on change. I might have to buy a constant 1.5 psi output vaporizer, but that is upward in the $200. Can anyone tell me where i can buy a vaporizer for less 'cause after all, this is just a diy project. The less money spent on the project the better the rewards you get.

I'm running a $20 adjustable regulator I got from Tractor supply. I'm using a pressure gauge before the solenoid valve to know what my pressure is.
