Congratulation Challenger, you have won the title of being the first to my ignore list. I hope this might convince you that you are not respected here at all.

I am going to have to agree with speed185187 on this. Challenger you are a fool. I posted here to show the members that it was possible to use WMO with no detrimental effects on the motor, but you just seem to want to knock everything.

What does it really matter if the motors for these trucks are cheap?? My dads cost $9,000 to rebuild. Sure he could have went 2nd hand for around $2000. But he wanted to rebuild. Even at 2k for a 2nd hand motor, I wouldnt say that it was cheap.

These toyota motors have a reputation for being tough and can easily do 600,000 miles. So mine has still a lot of life left in it yet.

I will try and get some pics of my setup with the heat exchangers over the weekend.

Maybe you are onto this WMO thing challenger and you dont want to tell anyone else about it because they might start taking your WMO supply,

I have said it before.. when you have FACTUAL information that it will wreck my motor, tell me all about it..... But I know I will be waiting a while.. Because there is no proof ANYWHERE that running WMO will harm an engine.

speed i am not looking for your respect,if my words ring true to even one person and prevents an engine failure or an accident, then thats good,it would be easier for me to be a cheerleader, i don't think you'll hear from people who wrecked their engines from bad fuel or got in an accident because their engine died at the wrong time, they would be too embarrassed to say anything, its unfortunate the mods will allow a person who knows nothing about propane,to give lessons to others on how to build a completely unsafe and illegal propane system, but ya i've always stood up about that kind of stuff, sometimes it not what people want to hear

edelbrock,no way would i burn that in my truck, not a chance.i would burn it in a shop heater though if i had one, so you are approx 1/6 into your engines anticipated life span,I am in the rocky mountains towing in very steep conditions and long distance, loose your engine going down these grades and its not pretty safety wise,if it packs it in in the middle of nowhere, then theres big expenses,so its unwise to add more risks in my situation,if you google contaminated fuel and scroll around there is quite a bit of info, and believe me it is not recommended and i didn't write the articles.

Whoa, guess I missed something. Challenger go off the deep end or did he finally get on everyone else's nerves?

Anyhow. I see mention from edelbrock1 about engine repair costs. I believe what he says. I've got a friend in Melbourne. Things are about 25-40% more than here in the states due to the importing and major taxes the Aussies have.

What model toyota engine is it edlebrock? I was thinking about dropping a hilux half cut's diesel engine into my samurai at first.

Challenger seems to be a cheerleader for making bio diesel. Yet bad bio can wreck the injection system. It has happened many times. But I don't see Challenger speaking up on those issues??

Mikey, we won't see what he writes back.

But you do make a very good point!

I am a big believer in "if it aint broke, dont fix it" so I have never pulled the injectors or done any of the other tests.

Oil get changed every 10,000 kilometres. (6,000 miles) and it is normal oil. Looks the same as my dads when he was never using WMO.

Does not seem to burn any oil. But who would know, it might be laking past the rings and staying in the sump. But it never gets any fuller than that the amount that I put in there. So I guess that is a bit of an unknown. But for more than 100,000 miles with no problems... I am not complaining or asking questions..
why do you suppose idi injection systems are more tolerant to wmo, and di and common rail are not?at the eldebrock fueling station down under what would you think needs to be done to the"fuel" so that any diesel engine could swing by and filler up?just like at a diesel pump where only one version of the fuel is needed

I didn't really see a dispute in the last few posts. Just a very valid question. Not that it matters though. (Nor do I care/will see what the backpeddle will be)

Edit: wait, didn't I have a post here posing the question? Oh well.

No one is saying it's as good a diesel. If diesel were free, or even $1.00 a gallon, this discussion would not be happening. It takes some work and some risk to make it work. Oviously you are not a risk taker, just a what iffer. We all get it by now.
