so with all this being said....i just changed my oil and tranny fluid, they ended up getting mixed together, about 4 gallons total of this stuff, oil was amsiol 15-40. what is yall opinion on filtering the waste oil/trans fluid mix i have and say using one gallon for every tank n see what it does.. considering i dont have electronic injectors i should be good right?and what would be the best way to filter this as well as where to buy the items needed to filter this and to continue to do so in the future. any advice is greatly appreciated. thanks -scott

Amsoil is synthetic, don't burn it.

Test the Amsoil before using it. Soak up some of the oil with a paper towel and burn it. Compare it to conventional motor oil (doing the same). I found that Mobil 1 burns cleaner than Castrol GTX.

For filtration I'm using 0.5 micron polyester felt bag filters with an absolute rating of 99%. Two passes doubled bag the rating is 99.9%.

MikeyB, can you post a link to the source of the 0.5 micron bag? I wonder if you can get a 0.5 micron cartridge filer somewhere.

It's from Filtersource.com. It's not listed on the website but the p/n is PEMF0.5AP1S. 7"x16" bag. They do show the 32" bag on the site.

And I made a mistake in my earlier posting. It's efficiency rating is 96%, not 99%.

I thought of another question: Has anyone analyzed B2 for non-ferrous metals? I wonder what metals are in our fuel that they sell us at the gas station. Is filtered WMO any worse?

What I am looking for is data to back up someone's post. People seem to post opinions or gut feelings without ant data to support it. I'm looking for facts.

WMO is the worst idea that anyone has ever though of, it doesn't even work and will definatly destroy your truck within the first 5000 miles. It has tons of metals in it, and lost of other really really bad stuff in it. DO NOT PUT THIS IN YOUR TRUCK (haha i want it all for myself)

So much bunk that I'm glad I've got my boots on. My own experience has shown that with good filtering WMO is not harmful to my motor as 40,000 miles has proved to me. My IP on my ferd was way past due replacement before I started WMO & went over 35k on 50-90% WMO & was still getting 18-19 mpg when I replaced it along with the nozzels.
If you don't wish to run WMO that is your truck your choice, as its others choice to run it.

we should get facts and opionions for people with mechanical injectors and weather or not it is OK or not to run wmo/wtf. i would like to use this waste and put it to good use but im not willing to do that if it involves hurting my engine in any way.what would you guys think if waste was filtered numerous times throught micron bags, then run past many magnets to catch (id like to say) ALL of the metal debris.-scott

That's what I'm doing. Filtering using 0.5 micron high efficiency bag filters and doubling the bags. Also have magnets in the clean oil storage containers to collect ferrous metals.

haha DUDE did you see the last par of that message "haha i want it all for myself" I have ran literally thousands of gallons of WMO through my truck. As a matter of fact, I don't even remember the last time that i was at a gas station dropping $100's of dollars to fill up.
