If you havent tried the WMO and dont have actual results then you shouldnt condemn it and the people who have used it. Snapper, thanks for your input. Congrats on the WMO working for you. Thank you for actually trying it. Challenger, how old are you? Mopar1973man, until you try it and have first hand experiance with something you shouldnt dismiss it. Youve done great work with the 2 Cycle oil, but dont dismiss other options. Thats no better than 2 ricers sitting around comparing the specs of their hUndahs and arguing whose is faster but never actually racing.

I got a guy that is running up to 2 gallons of 2 cycle oil now and lost 5-7 MPG over it. Now is there much difference between 2 cycle oil and waste engine oil??? Not really... Just the fact remains that there is a heavy ASH and CARBON level that Cummins doesn't suggest for WEO fuels... I just about willing to try up to 5% but for the price of a injection pump and injectors is it really worth it?? I really don't have that kind of money to make a gamble like that... That's why I've been working at improving my MPG... As for testing I got guys doing testing for me all the time...

haha well he can dump all the crap through his truck all he wants... but i filter down to 1 micron before putting anything into my truck, so i don't think that is the problem. I'm sure the added heat is just a bonus. Running 95% WMO, the truck runs fine without the line heater on, (as long as its hot outside). I don't know exactly how hot it gets the oil, but pretty darn hot. After the truck has been running for a while the fuel filter and the line that feeds the p-pump are way too hot to touch. (well without getting burned)

Not tryin to be a smarty about it, but writing down miles and calculating MPG's on the back of a reciept from waffle house isn't real accurate.

I have an uncle that runs pure filtered motor oil in his ps and he hasn't had any issues at all. Its pretty simple all you need is a 1 micron filter and run it through about twice and you good to go. I think if theres a problem with metal deposits in the oil maybe you should run a magnet before your filter system(just a thought)

Snapper, what kind of mileage are you getting running that WMO? I gained a lot with the ford but I did it too crudely to really know for sure, but I have had a couple people around here with cummins' do it and tell me they are getting more MPG's with the WMO so I just wondered if your results were the same as theirs, and mine..?

Thank you gents. We've a lot to learn from each other if we try a little... Cummins used to say you could run up to 10% weo in your fuel in the earlier VE and P pumped motors. They have been silent to my knowledge on VP and CP3 pumped trucks. Deposits seem to be the biggest issue. As with running straight veggie, I would think engine operating temp would be key to preventing deposits from contanminents if you are running a heavy dose of weo. There are easily referenced examples on line of diesels getting coked up from veggie oil when the vehicles are used as daily drivers.

this forums strategy is in part to promote ideas that support and improve cummins engines and drive trains in our trucks,i have been around long enough to say dirt is probably our engines #1 enemy, whether it comes in the intake or via the fuel.i am interested in alternative fuels, especially WVO but in particular bio made from WVO,I like the reports from those running WMO and their critism, you will shorten the service life of your engine,it will cause premature failure,20k is nothing in the lifespan of a well cared for cummins, but 20 k of WMO could equal 100 k diesel or more, and once you reach a certain threshold it will eat itself apart internally rather quickly, but hopefully you will have sold it just prior to that right, but hopefully not to another member of this forum!
