Differential lube??

I have about 33000 miles on my truck so figure it is about time to service the diffs. I just switched to schaeffer's supreme 9000 5w-40 syn. What do you guys recommend in a gear lube. I am willing to listen to anything but since I switched to shaeffer's oil might like to stick with that.
I do mostly avereage driving. Tow a gooseneck or an equip. hauling trailer a few times a month. looking to go 100% syn. unless ya'll have different ideas.

I'll backup D.D. on that. (not that he needs it ) I ran that in my 04.5 and it really made things quiet and seemed to not have as much drag afterwards either.

Now i can't remember what i put in the transfer case (D.D....) but I can tell you that it really settled the wiggles and jiggles i had in the stick (on the floor) once i changed it out too. And that annoying hummm....hummm...hummm you get when you cruise down the highway...yea, that was gone too.

Which reminds me, i should probably do that soon to the 06. I might be PM'in ya D.D. about some cost to ship to the 80634....thanks!

I would say just knowing that your gears and axles are protected with some of the best lube available should be peace of mind enough. The pumpkins are filled with synthetic out of the factory for your year of pickup anyway, so putting something better then what's in the factory would be a good idea, especially if you tow a lot. Otherwise, the cooling factor and wear factor should be considered.

sorry to change the subject, but what atf would you suggest for the manual transmission and the transfer case?

what he said...it calmed down the bouncing and vibration you get if you have the stick coming up through the floor. If not, then use it anyway...still works great.

Transfer Case: ATF
G56 6 speed: ATF
NV5600: MTF
NV4500: MTG

Those are AMSOIL Product codes. Be aware which manual trans you have (this is said to all reading) when selecting a fluid. It certainly matters.
