what about home heating oil and kero?
When i was a kid working at the gas station my boss use to have me add some kero to his truck tanks. Whats up with that? Have also heard you can run diesels on home heating oil? Anyone got any info on useing this stuff in a 2006? Can you run it straight? Cut it with diesel? Any info would be appreciated. Tom

Home heating oil is off road diesel...usually just diesel fuel with red dye added...the dye is added to differentiate between on road and off road for the purpose of highway tax being added to the price.

I think the kerosine was to thin the diesel during cold weather. From what I've heard, there isn't much lubrication for the IP in that stuff - so you want to be careful about adding it to diesel. If you are looking to save some bucks on fuel, either go with a twin tank grease conversion - or make your own biodiesel. |
