I agree. I dont think he was doing a thorough job. Sorry to hear about your troubles. I run B100 and have been for 2 years and no problems. I havnt run any WVO because its too hard to get a hold of.

I have run bio through my truck since I bought it a year ago. I have run probably 10 tanks of b100 and 6 tanks of b30(winter time) I have just lost some power. I do have to say these CRD engines are finicky though. I had a batch I didn't dewater well enough and didn't convert completely and the truck did not like it when it was cold but not cold enough to kick on the grid heater. Ran rough and smoked until the cylinder temp came up. I just put 10 gallons of#2 in it and chaged the filter to dilute the bad stuff and started to dry my fuel and test it a always before using it. No problems now.

I was just expressing my bad feelings about bio. Some how I have become the bad guy. I am sure you guys make great diesel fuel but some one asked and I told. Everyone is entilted to their own opinion. Travis bought a truck from me not bio. The truck was a nice truck too. I just had bad luck with it and do not intend to use it again. For all the problems it caused me I could have built a machine to make my own. Dont get me wrong but there are some farmers out there that are smarter than scientists in my opinion. Sorry to offend any one with my thoughts. Travis I am glad you like the truck. That was one I should have kept.

Yes they were all using the same fuel out of the same containers. I have not talked to the guy since the problems.

Hey man, I in no way want you to feel like the bad guy. I wanted to give you a little ray of hope for bio. In the long run I think you could save a lot of money, especially with all the towing you are doing. We all know that s*&^ happens. It's not your fault he made sub standard bio.

My experience is that even with commercial biodiesel, theres a chance your going to get bad fuel. Just like you can get bad regular diesel. Good thing is that most station that sells b100 are guys that also make it for themselves. You can contact them. Talk to them to correct the problem. You can't with the big oil.

I would contact the guy that you bought the fuel from and tell him to stop selling what he's making so no one else will have problems.

I don't think any body's blaming you. It is your experience with it.

I replaced my fuel sender in my '95 at about 155,000 miles and before I had run any biodiesel. I have now run B100 for all of the warm months for the last 17 months and as much BD as I can for the cool months (I'm in WI, ya know!). The truck now has 179,000 and the sender still works perfectly.

One serious difference that probably needs to be noted with biodiesel is homemade vs. station bought. If you buy it at a station, don't be too surprised if it does weird things. I've heard way too many stories of poor fuel at fuel stations; they cut corners to increase profit or something. Or just too large of batches to control well, I don't know (I won't be surprised one bit if methanol left in the fuel will dissolve a fuel sender).

I make all mine myself and run quality tests at various stages to ensure the best fuel I can do.

Let's not forget that this site supports a FORUM... That includes both the pro side and the con side of the topic. Not everyone has to agree. As long as it is done in a respectful manner with personal attacking, debate on guys. BTW Willy's fuel better nock it off. I have already sunk $1500 in stocks in that company and watched it plummet from .60 a share to .06 UGH!!!

Wow. Sorry to hear about your investment. I heard their trying not to fill bankruptcy. I know that Willie is in partners with Pacific biodiesel with a plant in Carls Corner now. I visited that plant. Pretty fancy with 8k gallons a day production.

no biggie. One of their financiers was trying to force them into bankruptsy but they are still fighting. I think they aquired too much in to short of time and just over extended themselves

Truth be told, Cumminstexas and myself built a damn nice still that is able to batch 165 gallons of bio. He ran bio from bio-willie for awhile and thats when he had the problems.

i collect wvo from resturants for my business outta san luis obispo ca. my boss runs straight b100 in his megacab, the 2000 24v collection truck runs on it and has the greasecar conv. and my 97 12v runs on it and havent had an issue besides filters getting clogged. if ur having problems with bio, or wvo then ur doing something wrong. we've been doing this awhile and with eveyone we've sold to and all the fuel we used ourselves.its all about getting the particales and the water out. if u dont do that then yes you will have issues.
