Cummins Premium Blue 15W40 here. I used to use Rotella but didn't like the way it seemed to thin out so quickly. The Premium Blue seems to hold up (stay thicker) a bit longer and no more SMELLA!!! LOL In any case, it's a matter of personal opinion. I know that Valvoline tested this oil in Cummins engines during their oil tests and it came out with flying colors. I've been tempted to try a synthetic but at 5000 miles per change, I'd rather buy a good dino and change it regularly. I have an uncle that's just passed 315,000 miles on his 1994 Cummins and he changes his with dino religiously. So, I figure he's gotta be doing something right. Well, it's just good to see that everyone on here is so concerned with keeping their engines in top shape. I think the Cummins crowd is one of the best in keeping their maintenance up. Makes me cringe to think of that guy in the Honda that starts his car and is half way down the street before the oil leaves the pan. And he wonders why it smokes
