Talking

I had no intention for anyone to consider it an argument. Just letting people know my opinion. And thats all it is. I wasnt picking at anyone. Im just curious how the whole synthetic testing works. I can tell you this. My 2000 cummins oil stayes VISIBLY clean between oil and filter changes. My new 05 even at 3000 miles looks as if its gone 3 times that long.....It gets nasty quick.....My buddies does the same.....
So in the end. I hope no one took offense to anything I posted. Im wanting knowledge from this and maybe connections...Thats all.

Hey Greaseburner, no offense taken! I'm no expert, that's why I spend time reading these threads. I'll let you know how the AMSOIL works for me. Remember, the color of the oil means nothing, mine is black right after I change it!

I run Rosmella synthetic and change the oil every 8-9000 miles with a filter change in the middle at about 4-4500 miles. Of course with the new filter comes about 1 quart of new oil. I also change my fuel filter every second oil change.

That's my schedule too, but I do run the good ole Rosmella Dino. The smell doesn't bother me. I hardly notice it.

Does anyone know what oil comes in them new off the showroom/lot? Just curious. The filter on mine is a Mopar. So who makes the filters for Mopar? Again, just curious. I'm cummin up on 1500 miles, going to change the oil and get the break-in crap out.

Thanks for the info Whitmore. I've also wondered about when you have the dealer do your oil changes do they also have the oil tested? Or is that something that gets bypassed in the process? Or, do you have to request it at the time of servicing? I plan to have my oil tested every time I change it. Just ordered a case of test kits to put beside the 2 cases of oil filters, case of fuel filters, and several cases of oil in the garage. I figure the tests will be more than sufficient to prove the changes. I picked up a floppy for the digital camera and plan on recording the mileage that way, time and date stamp from the camera should do. The only stuff I am doing at the dealer is the lubrication and any recalls.
