Mystic?

I use rotella in all my engines but at one time I did consider mystic. It is a very popular oil here in south Texas. I was just wandering if anyone uses it & why dont you hear about it on these forums?

I've heard very little about it. As for synthetics, I tend to lean toward the experienced and well known.

I asked the same question at BITOG several months ago...it was indicated to me that it is good oil...several people were running it with good luck.

Mystik is refined by Citgo Petroleum Corp. and is actually a very good oil. It's ingredients are really some of the best and most technologically advanced of the major brands out there. Where most oils in the 15W40 range rely heavily on zinc and zinc-associated additive packs, Mystik goes a bit further and includes a mix of calcium sulfonate, esters, and polymers that magnify lubricity beyond what most others can provide. I've been seriously considering switching from the Premium Blue just to see what changes if any it might make.

Well I switched to mystik. Many have discussed that the old CI-4 plus oils are better than the new CJ oils. Mystic was one of the only oils I could find in the CI formula so I figured it might be time to switch. Mystic also came in a sythetic "JT8" blend. I spent around $29 for 3 gallons.

This is exactly what I have heard about Mystic as well...I don't believe it exists in Canada so count yourself lucky.... I will count myself lucky knowing I have access to Delo Synthetic 5W40 and Petro Can Duron 5W40. :thumbsup

I found some of this at Oreilly's today and was wondering what everone else thought about it before I purchased any. Its the only CI-4 rated stuff I have seen in a while.

Personally I wouldn't use Mystic since it's a Citgo company, controlled by Hugo Chavez.

There's plenty of other good oils on the market.

Si Seρor!...
They make a few oils for the Yamaha and Kawasaki labels

They are not afraid of spending a little money on the additive packs

Absolutely... I know there is no way to completely isolate our $$ from those We hate, but I do what I can... No Wal-mart, no Citgo among many others...
