So Ive heard that YOU MUST USE CHRYSLER TRANNY FLUID in the DODGE Tranny's or they will junk there selves ... Ive heard this a bunch ,,,,then on the other hand ive beed told to run syntehics also so whos right ?

dtt says to run dexron mercron, and i ran it in my stock trans for almost 2 years. i think thats what held it together. less lubrication props..

I havent a clue ,,,, It was a suggestion to improve cold weather shifting , its thinner and will flow through the tranny sceens better or some chit

I'm anti-AMSOIL so I HATE saying this but the Amsoil stuff is probably pretty good.

A bottle of Black LubeGuard added to ATF +3 is supposed to work just fine. That reminds me I need to change my fluid.

The little black bottle and 14 qts +3 was put in mine when it was new. I was just wondering if anyone knew which synthetic woud be OK to use.

I don't know if this is still a relevant thread, but I used to work in a high perf. trans. shop, and the Black lube guard bottle was a friction modifier that Chrysler required in all of their transmissions, and the red bottle was what we put in all of the other transmissions. (Ford and GM) The friction modifier had something to do with how the transmission applied the clutches, and if you didn't put it in there, it would prematurely burn up. I don't know if that has changed, since it has been about 8 years since I quit building transmissions for a living and all that I do now is build racing 700R4's.
