I have a 2003 with 106000 on the motor. Should I be using injector cleaner to keep the injectors clean or is it a waste of money. I don't think we ever ran in injector cleaner in the trucks I drove for thirty years. I drove one that I got 800,000 out of a big cam 400 and then somebody started driving it after I got another new one. and they put 200,000 before they put in a new crate mortor.
1 quart ATF (the cheap stuff at Walmart) and 1 quart 2 stroke oil (again cheap stuff) per tank works.
I recently did it to a 03 with 180K miles on it after driving for a while it definitely idled smoother and slightly quieter. Now I don't know if that was from the ATF cleaning out the fuel system or the 2SO adding extra lubrication as I still have like 1/2 a tank left.
