Iron looks a little high, and is steadily climbing...Is the same oil tested three times or is it a chage every time?

Mine did the same thing until about 40k then dropped like a rock...

TBN sure looks good for one year, silicone is nice & low too... good air filtration.
Iron looks high at first glance (although it can safely go higher), but again, what are the mileage/time on the other samples.
You changing the oil & going for round 2, or you keeping it in longer?

Glad I stumbled onto this thread. I just picked up this oil today and am going to install a bypass system before I do the oil change. Figured this pic would be a good addition to the topic.

I changed the oil every time I took a oil sample being the oil had been in the engine one year that an I have an extended warranty so I have to change it out once a year. I'm not to worried about the Iron yet but I was not happy to see it show Potassium at 16 when it had been a zero the other two times so wonder why it showed up this time.

I think it maybe time to save up and install an oil by pass system just to be safe. I see that I did not list the oil filter I used, it was a Fleetguard Stratapore and is the same brand filter for all 3 oil test.

Oh in case some missed it I did list the miles for each sample and then total vehicle miles below. I see that when it showed up on the web page they got run closer together so I will try again to space them out below so its easier to read:

Sample Miles: 7695------6564------ 6972
Vehicle Miles: 34291-----26396-----20032

Question

DBLR, did you notice any reduction in oil pressure when you switched to a lighter weight oil?

No I did not, but I did notice less engine noise going from synthetic 5w40 Rotella to 5w30 HDD.

My Potassium climbed to mid 40's using the Amsoil 15w40 version, also Iron was really high....I had / have about same mileage as yours. I went back to the dino for last three oil changes and everything quieted down, I will run till about 65k then try synthetic again.

A bypass will not help you in any of the concerns you have, Iran a Baldwin B50 and a Amsoil BP110 with a Amsoil full flow filter with no help in readings! Still get the bypass...just don't think it will be saving grace

Here's my remote Amsoil by-pass filter giving me close to a 14 quart capacity system. I run the Amsoil Series 3000 5W-30 Heavy Duty Diesel oil. I change the oil once a year (approximately 12,000-15,000 miles). Most engine wear is caused by 5 micron particles or larger, the Amsoil by-pass system filters down to less than 1 micron. This system will filter all 14 quarts in approximately 11 minuets.
