Strange... I've gain 5-6 MPG (21.7 to 23.3 MPG) by using 2 cycle oil now for 40K miles...

I highly doubt the oil in the cause of the loss in MPG's...

I was also wondering what was better the 2 stroke oil or the fuel additives you can buy?

Most all 2 cycle oils have to hold to a standard of TCW-3 so it don't matter if its design for air cooled or watered cooled... I've used both...

Yamalube...
Wal-Mart Super Tech
Sthl Chainsaw 2 Cycle oil
Phillips 66 Injex
PennzOil 2 Cycle Oil

and the list goes on..

I guess I should have been more specific, instead of using TCW3 oils what about API-TC oils, there is quite a difference, though I don't know if the Cummins would benefit from the higher grade oil

You know, I have been irritated at some of the questions in these threads, by folks who obviously haven't read the content, but now view it as "spreading the word" and enlightenment. I appreciate the work Mopar1973Man and others have done to find a simple solution to our lube issues and prolong the life of our trucks. So go ahead and ask a question that has already been run through the mill, someone else will see it and gain from the exposure.
