Sea Foam?

Have you guys heard about seafoam?
My shop here uses it sometimes, but mostly we just use it on our persona vehicles.
Is there any diferance between it and just like some Generic carb cleaner?
I sucked a can into my car through the vacume line, it smoked like a diesel for a few miles, but i really think it did some good, but would any petroleum based additive do just as good?

My only experience with seafoam was last winter when I had to tow a gal who had been using it in her gasser into the shop to thaw out a frozen fuel system...

I've been useing it in my lawn mowers, power washers, etc. to stabilize the gas, for storing in the winter months. Seems to work.

I'll see if I have a can laying around, and post some info later. It is supposed to be as good as Sta-bil (spelling?). only possibly cheaper.
Better yet, try this.... http://www.seafoamsales.com/

it says is good for diesels as an anti gel, and in gas as anti freeze? I have tons of bottles of it here at our shop, and i think it works better for removing the carbon in a diesel engine moreso then in a gas engine..i know it did quite a number on my cutlass. Brought back a little pep in the engine!

It works really well in gassers to clean injectors or dirty carbs. I've used it for years. I added it to my daughter' "new" 00 Corolla, it sputtered and hesitated after a few miles, then cleared up and runs great. It desolves varnish & fuel deposits and runs them through the system.
