Cruise for Charity

I was wondering the sunday cruise and all if we could maybe do one sometime for charity.

The thought has been rolling around in my head for sometime. and last sunday kind of cemented that idea. Turn it into a truck club. contribute to charity.

now I have three reasons I would like to do this.

1. your doing it for a worth while cause.

2. Instead of "look at those holes blowing smoke." we may get a better reputation as a group.

3. Popularity of Diesel performance. More people may come out to the cruise and. the only downside is we will need a bigger parking lot.

What are all your thoughts?

Actually, we have talked about it... Call it Rollin' Coal...those with Diesel's are members and those of us with gassers are supporting members...

The one thing that has come up, is what charity? It sounds easy, but in reality, it takes some time and work to get a charity in on it....

I was thinking stollerys childrens hospital would be a good candidate, make it a annual event.

I honestly would have no clue how hard it would be to get a charity in on it. But I think it would be really cool.

Now if only we could get some powerstrokes and some duramaxes out there that would be nice.

That is a great idea guys. I'm a hardcore Sonic 102.9 listener, and they support YESS (youth emergency shelter society). Might be easier to get an event organized in conjunction with a radio station i.e., they aready have the mechanisms in place to organize events.

LOL you guys are funny. I was thinking more along the lines that StaxGirl seems to be super-organized and she is always organizing everything and rallying the cause (and a great job she does), and that I BET she would get stuck organizing this too (come on guys), and I thought if it was done in assoication with a radio station or something it would not be such an effort to get the word out, collect cash etc....I agree that the cancer cause might be a bit over the top.

Ouch, that's bitter stuff. Although I might have to agree. Well to heck with the hegemony of the massive, money-drunk institutions , I think Saber had something more local in mind.

Actually, friends of mine put on a car show for the Stollery every year (this year they aren't cause they are having a baby) If I was to do something for charity, my idea would be to help troubled teens

This is great I know of a great charity to support, it is called "Help Mark buy his first diesel fund." Hahah just joking but I think doing a cruise for charity would be a great idea.
