More power needed

I currently traded my o5 cummins for an 06 mega cab and the power difference is rediculous. My 05 had noticably way more power and i know that theres gonna be a difference just in the weight but its driving me crazy. With my 05 a ran into several problems when i chipped it with the edge attitude such as the tranny, injectors, tranny again etc. So my question is what can i do to find somemore reliable power without breaking the bank.

Beef up the tranny. Add something, such as 2 stroke oil, to your fuel to lubricate your injectors. I wouldn't add more than 100 HP to a stock tranny.

From what I have heard so far, the AFE air intake helps, and edge has a not too bad program for it...

I have heard alot of good feed back about the smarty what would something like that run a guy and what exactly is it(programmer ?) And i have never heard of the 2 stroke oil to the fuel before. The truck without a load slows down going up hills on the highway is 1 example. 1 other thing i was told to try was the fuel filter, yea,no?

Smarty is the most popular for 3rd Gen trucks. It runs 685 but you should consider tranny upgrades if you get one. It is a programmer. Your injectors may not have been lubed properly because of ULSD. In your new truck you will want to lube your injectors. They need it. 2 stroke oil provides good lubrication. 1 oz. per gallon of diesel. Change the fuel filter it my help. It could be pretty nasty.

The Smarty Jr would be fine if your looking for a moderate boost in power. If you have bigger plans in the future, look into the Smarty SR.

IMO, I wouldn't run 2 stroke.

If your fuel filter hasn't been changed in a while, you may want to get that done. Every 7-10K isn't a bad time to change it out.

Well thanks for the info guys, to be honest im not planning on going crazy with the truck due to i have a car that i race already so i dump most of my money into it lol but it would just be nice to have a little bit more towing power for the holiday trailer. Someone told me that you can do something to the waste gate to get more boost. Also would you guys recommend going with the stock dodge replacement for the fuel filter or like a Can Tire jobby?

For starters my disclaimer is that I'm pretty much a diesel noobie, but I've been doing lots of research esp. for stuff that's available around Edmonton.

I was planning to check out these guys (Snow West Inc.):
Hard a port(al), maybe some of you Edmonton folk know of them. I was interested initially because they carry TST PowerMaxCR's, which I'd eventually like to stack with a Smarty (and I mean eventually!).

They carry ATS products, including the Torque Pro 2000 - which, as I understand it, uses propane to increase HP, torque and fuel economy. Maybe that sounds too good to be true, but a phone call can't hurt! I haven't called them or anything.

Have a look!

Get the regular smarty so you as well as your programmer can grow with each other use it on the #0-#5 catchers and you will be fine. Or you can go with a dr. performance module neither are traceable by dealership so warranty is not an issue. What are you planning to do with the truck much towing? Racing? This will help you line up your mods to follow.
