Personally I think they are going to start cracking down on the smoke issue and the loud exhausts, because diesel trucks are becoming way more popular here in Alberta.Just like when they started cracking down on all of the rice rockets with the coffee can mufflers. Hopefully they don't crack down on the smoke and exhausts and just let us go.

I can see them eventually saying something if it is excessive, but a diesel will always have some smoke coem out of it, and will always be louder then a gasser that is stock...

BTW future...Nice avatar That sure is one kick butt truck...

Have found a few nice 1st gens and a couple 2nd and a 3rd

I want to put a custom straight pipe with a side dump, air intake, programer, ect... (dont want a grocery getter, somethin that will beet the crap out of any vehicle at the line)

But back to the point

I havent found anywhere about diesel truck laws in Alberta and am wondering do I need a cat??muffler?? and any laws I need to know of before I go ripping around town blowin smoke with a 5-6inch straight pipe??

Thanks

I got one warning by a local RCMP a while back about my truck being too loud and that having a stack is illegal, but ive driven past him about a dozen time since then and he hasnt done anything, I think its more based on complaints then anything.
