Remote Start

Hey just a Question i have a 2006 2500 5.9 i have a edge juice with att. My remote start stop working and the say its because with the edge when you plug in the injector wiring it messes with the wire they use with the starter. Just wondering if anybody has had the same problems.

i install remote starters and have never seen a problem with plug and play chips, plus I take the tach signal right at the engine controller, so they may have taken the signal from an injector which is a bad signal and can screw up your pulse width pattern on the injectors! as well as cause starter run on and no starts.

Recently installed remote start and Edge. No problems with either system.

Thanks mopar that is exactly what they did. Sure took me a while to get them to straighten that mess out. Everybody is always so quick to lay blame on the chip. Its frustrating.

Which remote starts you guys using? I take it they are stand alone? Any controllers have them built in? I'd like to have one for next winter.

I install astro start remote starters, they are the most reliable I have found and ease of install outnumbers all others, generally don't need a pile of relays like some others!!!(compustars). They are standalone and there is 2 ways of setting them up for glow plugs, either a 30 sec start delay or you can have it actually monitor the heater cycle!! Also, heated seats, rear defrost-if equipped, keyless entry(door locks), alarm, low temperature starting-can be set from -5'c to -30'c, and more......

The only problem I had was when my Edge was first installed because of the cool down it would set off my alarm when the truck finally shut off. I had it reprogrammed so it won't arm until it shuts off. I have the Viper system it monitors the heat cycle for starting it is not a timer. The only thing I can't do is turn the bun warmer on.

then your door locks aren't hooked up and also you have an older model with only one start wire, ignition and accessory!
