you will lose the warrenty on the exhaust system, but it won't wear out on your shop wall, along with the other tributes to OEM parts on the shelf. my truck had 900km on it when the edge and afe went in, 15k when the dpf fell off, 25k when the egr joined the dpf, 30k for the fass. as far as engine and drivetrain warrenty goes, the dealer has to prove that what went wrong was DIRECTLY caused by the aftermarket parts, for example, if your turbo goes and they find parts of your K&N in the housing, YOUR fault, but if there is no direct cause then they have to warrenty the parts, just be honest with your dealer and if they screw you around, find a new one, my dealer helps put in half the stuff on my trucks.

i think its the other way around.
the dealer can deny your warranty,
and its YOUR job to prove that what they are saying is
wrong. you will end up spending alot of money on lawyers
to try and prove a corporation wrong, and will probably lose.
think about it - if the dealer says that yes, they are denying warranty
coverage because of * insert your problem here * then you drive off and
begin to try and argue your case. the dealer doesnt say that we'll replace
your defective part until WE ( the dealer ) prove that YOU were at fault.

it just doesnt work that way.

now obviously if you have a lower ball joint go bad, and you have the dpf delete, and the dealer denies your warranty on the lbj due to the dpf delete, then you have a damn good argument.

It can be done, but there is a good chance your warranty is gonna be gone.

I have my DFP and EGR deleted I lost my tranny twice a couple of injectors all at my cost...My front diff was leaking where my drive shift goes in to it and they wouldn't warrenty that because if have different diff covers.

i think you guys need to have the same chat with your dealers that i had with my owner, keep things honest and i will keep buying new trucks there and sending friends in, try to screw me around and the deals go to annother shop.

Contaminated Brake Fluid (sounds Fishy)
So i took my 2007 3500 laramie into the shop my brakes where locking on as if someone foot was on the brake they diagnosed it as a hydro booster, so today i phoned to pick up the truck and now they said after instaling the booster they noticed my brake fluid looked contaminated (no warranty). my question would be wouldnt the brake fluid have to be drained to pull the master cylinder off and install the new booster. therefore refilled after the process. they also told me that they backed the brakes off to get the truck rolling. i am confused as all f***. Can someone clear this up for me please and does something sound fishy to any of you guys.

I'd do it, let the truck breathe, and cut all that out and run 'er straight, then just have the sensors deleted. You'll get far better fuel mileage. Plus its your exhaust system, so I really can't see how they can void your entire warranty, I mean, what can a better flowing exhaust system cause damage to, absolutely nothing.

personally, to avoid the hassle put your stock parts back on for major warranty work, it may cost you some time but may save you a pile of money, dealers are a bunch of weasels they will try to screw you out of warranty to save a dime, and they have way more money than you to fight a warranty claim

Magnuson Moss Act

cliff notes is basically the dealer has to prove it was that problem that directly caused the problem, so if your turbo goes, even though you have exhaust, intake, or chip, they HAVE to prove thats DIRECTLY what caused the problem... not "that may have caused the problem"

I was 12v tech/manager for several years and had ALOT of dealings with stealerships trying to weasle my customers or me out of money.
