Question Turbo

Hey, im lookin into getting a turbo and i found a BD super single, w/ downpipe brand new for $1100. thats a fairly good price right? Also, Im not sure if a turbo is the next step for me. Right now i have 4" turbo back exhaust, custom 4" intake w/1200 cfm filter, Edge Juice w/ attitude, and an airdog 150 gph fuel system. Im barely blowing any smoke, and pushing 43 pounds of boost. Should I do injectors before a turbo, or can i do the turbo first?

you can do the turbo first then add injectors....just remember you need fuel to spool the turbo so you may not see any power gains until you add more fuel

But on the othe had woudnt bigger injectors push the stock turbo too hard? or would they just be somewhat limited by the stock turbo?

Depending on what size you go with...Stock turbo with big injectors will equal a HOT EGT's, Smokey, and boost past the safe limit for the stock turbo most likely...

it could be the programmer not giving you the smoke you want. every truck acts different wih each programmer.

being able to hit 1450 wont hurt. i think most trucks on here can hit 1450. if you get there real easy then there is a problem. with that turbo you should be ok. if you want to be real safe about it do water meth. im runnin jammer 3's with my stocker and it's ok. but i can hit 1600 if i get on it.

if i were you i would get the turbo that amount of boost is dangerous for a stock turbo. cummins says not to boost much higher than 30-35 psi with the hx-35. and trust me you dont want to see the damage a busted compressor wheel can do to a motor. and yes the bd is a great turbo for the money, i ran one on my truck for 11 months @ 45 psi. and i was at the 550 hp mark before i removed it for a much larger one. they hold up really well. but at 40+ psi you are over speeding the turbo its too small for that.

Well I am still worried about the egt's because i plan on getting a smarty and some injectors when the money comes, and im thinking i should do an intercooler first, or water meth, what would you guys recommend?
