Hi Guys, couple of comments, ATF is a Lubricant ,has different friction modifiers for clutch packs in it but its still oil. personally dont think it will hurt anything if its clean, know alot of guys use the used stuff in the tank cause its cheap (free) hope they're filtering it good . I wont try it cause of my late model truck, if i had an older one i would. Dont think it will have any affect either way on gelling , i used the white Power Service anti gel from fall to spring because i have messed with waxed up filters and i dont want to do it when i'm not on the clock. thats my .02

With all the people saying this is an "old timers" trick that will not work or may even cause damage, what I am about to say will probably be hard for some of you to take. I know of several mechanics that are using used ATF not as a fuel additive but as Fuel in their diesels. They take the used atf that they get from doing a flush, filter it and fill up the fuel tank. Some of them that live in warmer climates use it 100% and some up north dilute it anywhere form 50-50 to 90-10 with diesel. Some guys have not paid for fuel in years, just running on used atf. Fords, Chevys and Dodge. They call it the FFC. Free Fuel Club. Most are using it in trucks built before 2003.

I have been using atf for a couple of years now with no problems in my truck and the amazing thing about it will actually make your truck run a lot smoother and even drop your rpms while driving on the interstates

Hi Guys just an update on the oils in the fuel thread. At work we built what we call (The Still) basically its a 55 gal. drum ,funnel with a screen, an air pump, and a bank of filters. Only one of us is running the stuff so far a guy with a 99 Powerstroke , he's mixed up to 70% keeping it in one tank just in case. But he reports he's had no problems, cold starts just fine, runs smooth, and he's up over 5mpg from the ulsd ! He said the biggest hurdle was getting over the fear of pouring the black stuff in the tank, we been pouring mostly used Delo 15w40 and Delo 400 5w40 synthetic in it so far but we will have some synthetic ATF and Synthetic Tractor Hyd. to pour in once in awhile.
