AK Dealers: Recomendations ?

Alright so who is the best to deal with for service in the Los Anchorage area??

I need to get the cold weather reflash done, but since I'm in the desert right now I would like to be able to send my wife somewhere that will treat her right. BTW I didn't buy my truck in AK.

Thanks

I've found both dealers in town to be about the same when it comes to caring, customer service, and common sense. I wouldn't rank either very high, but they can get the job done. I tend to use Anchorage Chrysler if I need to use a dealer. They are the most BOMB friendly.

I would use Anchorage Chrysler. I know the service manager (Roy) and he has always taken care of me. I know they cleaned house here a while back and got rid of all the service writers and one of the managers. My Dad has had his truck in since then and said they did a good job.

I need the cold weather relash done on my truck too. But I am not going to pay the dealers a hundred bucks to do a $20 job. Anyone here in alaska have a smarty I can borrow?

Don't ever go to Lithia Dodge! They screwed up my old 2000 2500 for life.

Anchorage Chrysler is Top Notch in my book. I had both warranty and non warranty repairs done on my wife's 99 gasser 1500 and my 2002 2500 CTD for a few years prior to moving to South Carolina.

I only wish I could find a dealer down here half as good as Anchorage Chrysler was.

I know I am a newbee But I have had great luck with the Chrysler Jeep dealer, Although they dont advertise the fact that they work on Dodges they seam to do a lot of work on them and the diesel tech they have there is a real friendly guy, the shoop is small but they do a great job, i had the reflash for charging done to my truck i was in and out in under a hour and as i understand it if its a valad concern they can get the flash covered even on older cummings motors for computer work, my buddy with his 12 valve turned me on to the jeep guys after he had "fuel contamination" issues with Roy @ 5th ave Chrysler.

Both lithia and anc Chr wanted a $100 just to do the reflash on mine for the cold idle. I told them nevermind. Do you think the jeep place would be any cheaper?

do you mean the ones at old seward and tudor?
I was there do get a stupid diesel verfication sticker which in the first place takes an obsurd 30 or 40 minutes. :fist: so I asked while I was there if they could program one of my key remotes that didnt work and one of them does work. He said sure no charge no problem.

they tried to program a keyless remote for me. After they messed with it for 10 minutes, so service manager in a rude voice says. "These aint even the same part numbers" "It wont even communicate with the truck" I had already checked the remote part number beforehand and knew they were both the same. But I took them back double checked it, checked it again, and again a third time as Im driving home. Either I was blind OR the part numbers were identical as I had already known. After finding the programing instructions online, what they said was impossible, I was able to do in 30 seconds. After such an instance that dealership has absolutely NO credibility in my book

I know about the diesel verifcation program its a pain in the butt the state has all this paperwork has to be filled out, i used to work at a shop that did emissions work the state makes it a freeking big deal but dont worry they are suposedly going to change the program for worse next year for diesel testing the jerks in juneau are going to put up a bill similar to the one in CA
sorry to hear about the jeep guys but they seam to try harder than the 5th ave guys maybe you just got them on the wrong day
